What does reflective tape on a vehicle entail?

Requirements vary according to vehicle type, activity and local road-safety regulations.

The main objective is to ensure the safety of interventions on public day and night, by making the utility vehicle visible from a distance.

This safety marking is standardized in terms of size, shape, color and location, depending on the type of vehicle, its activity and the traffic lane on which it operates. The self-adhesive reflective tape should be more visible on a freeway than on a normal road.

Install reflective tape

There are several aspects to safety marking:

• retro-reflective adhesive ;
• plain fluorescent strip ;
• reflective stripes in alternating colors, usually red and yellow or white and red;
• standardized vehicle marking.
